Up one level

UKWCT Beenham February 6th 2005

When I left home it was a beautiful clear day, but by the time I was half way up the M4 to Reading West the clouds had come in... fortunately they did not come to stay.

It was an interesting morning - I did not do any cleaning, instead the time was taken up with taking photo's for one of the ASH's, Toni (organiser of seminars! - check out Spring 2005) who is going to feature in an article for Your Dog Magazine. Around 100 photo's later we ended up with some stunning shots including great ones of teh wolves howling around her, thanks to the church bells going off. So I am going to be published in a National magazine... now to find a worldwide one :-)

Once that was done it was time to head off to the woods to meet up with the second group from the National Farmers Union (NFU) who were going out on a walk.

Parting of the crowds for the wolves to walk through.
It is unlikely a wolf would knock someone over, more likely to be the handler at the end of the chain!
At this point I took over handling, then assissted after the lake, so there are no more pics...

After the walk we headed back to the trust to give the visitors tea coffee and buscuits (and give them a chance to buy things of course!). Once they were refreshed everyone went for a tour of the farm.

The guests headed off, we tidied up, then left for home to a nice hot bath!
